Voucher Link Verification & Phone Number Limitation Updated

Greetings from our team! We’re excited to share a series of impactful improvements and updates designed to elevate your loyalty program experience and bring even greater value to your members.

Here are the details of what’s coming:


Delivery Voucher Link Access now Requires Phone Verification for SMS Voucher Link Delivery


To improve the security of open-loop eGift and eGroup vouchers, users must now request a PIN via the voucher page to unlock and redeem their voucher. The PIN will be sent in a separate SMS only after the user opens the voucher link and clicks “Send PIN via SMS”. The PIN will be sent to the same phone number that originally received the voucher.


This enhancement rolls out today on Thursday, July 17, 2025.


What's Changing?


Previously, both the voucher link and the PIN were included in one SMS. This allowed voucher misuse if the message was forwarded to others.

Now, the voucher link and the PIN are separated:

  • Users receive the voucher link first
  • The PIN must be requested manually from the voucher landing page
  • The system will then send the PIN only to the original recipient’s phone number

Why This Matters?


Prevents unauthorized voucher access and reduces risk of reward misuse

Ensures only the original recipient can unlock the voucher


How It Works

  1. User receives an SMS with a voucher link.
  1. Clicking the link opens the voucher landing page.
  1. User taps the button to request the PIN.
  1. The system sends the PIN via SMS only to the phone number that received the original voucher. The unique ID at the end of the message helps users identify which voucher the PIN is for.
  1. User enters the PIN to view and redeem the voucher.

Validation and Limitations

  • PIN is only sent to the phone number that received the voucher link
  • PIN request must be initiated by the user from the voucher page
  • Maximum of 3 PIN requests per voucher, with 2-minute delays between requests
  • Previously sent PINs do not change and still valid, users should check their SMS inbox before resending the PIN
  • After 3 incorrect PIN entries, the voucher will be locked for 1 hour
  • No further PIN requests will be allowed after the limit is reached

Point Redemption to E-Wallet is Limited to the First 2 Successful Phone Numbers used for Redemption by the User


To enhance the security of e-wallet redemptions and protect users from unauthorized claims, phone number validation is now required for all redemptions made via the Tada web and app platforms.


This enhancement will roll out on Thursday, August 6, 2025.


What's Changing?


Previously, users could redeem rewards using any phone number, opening the door to unauthorized redemptions. Now, point redemption to e-Wallet is limited to the first 2 phone numbers entered by the user after successful redemptions. The highlights are:

  1. A phone number is verified only after a successful redemption.
  1. Once verified, users can reuse those numbers for all future redemptions.
  1. These saved numbers will appear on the e-wallet detail page for easy selection

Flow Simulation


  1. First Redemption
      • User inputs a phone number
      • If redemption is successful → Phone number is saved as verified.
  1. Second Redemption
      • User may enter a different phone number
      • If successful, the second number is also saved.
  1. After Two Numbers Saved
      • All future redemptions must use one of the two saved numbers.
      • These numbers will appear on the e-wallet detail page for easy selection.

Need to Update or Upload the Eligible Phone Numbers?


There are two ways to manage allowed phone numbers:


1. Change a Saved Phone Number (e.g., due to number loss or replacement)


If a user needs to change one of their previously saved phone numbers, follow these steps:

  • The user submits the request to the client
  • Client then forwards the request to Tada’s Customer Loyalty Team (CLT) via your company’s registered email or WhatsApp Number
    • Email: clt@usetada.com
    • WhatsApp: +62 813 1500 7070
    • Phone number changes cannot be made directly by users in the app.

Tada will verify and process the change accordingly.


2. Predefine or Upload Eligible Phone Numbers in Bulk


If your program requires specific phone numbers to be assigned to members in advance (e.g., from a registration database), our team can help upload this data.

  • Please contact your Tada representative or Client Relation team to arrange the upload.

For security and traceability, phone number changes cannot be made directly by the user within the app or web platform. Tada will only process change requests submitted by the client on behalf of the user. Requests sent directly by end users will not be accepted.

Why This Matters:

  • Reinforces Tada’s commitment to user-first security
  • Prevents reward abuse
  • Makes redemptions smoother and safer for users

Phone Number Lock for E-Wallet Voucher Links based on Recipient's Phone Number


To further improve redemption security, e-wallets accessed through e-voucher links (microsite via SMS/WhatsApp) are now locked to the original recipient’s phone number.


This enhancement will roll out on Thursday, August 6, 2025.


What’s Changing?


Previously, anyone with the link could claim the reward. Now, e-voucher links can only be redeemed by the specific phone number the reward was sent to. This ensures the gift reaches the intended person only.


How It Works

  • Each reward link is bound to the phone number used during the delivery (via SMS or WhatsApp).
  • Only that phone number can be used to redeem the reward.
  • Phone numbers cannot be changed by the user.

Need to Change the Recipient Number?


If an e-voucher was sent to the wrong phone number or the recipient needs to be updated, feel free to contact our Customer Loyalty Team or your Client Relation PIC.

  • The user informs the client on the phone number request change.
  • Client forwards the request to Tada’s Customer Loyalty Team (CLT) or their Client Relation PIC using their company’s registered email.
    • Email: clt@usetada.com WhatsApp: +62 813 1500 7070
    • Include the recipient’s name, original phone number, and the new phone number.

For security and traceability, phone number changes cannot be made directly by the user or through the link interface.

Tada does not process change requests submitted directly by end customers. All requests must be submitted by the client on behalf of the customer.



Business Impact:

  • Locked redemption = secure gifting
  • No room for accidental or unauthorized use
  • Ensures rewards go to the right person every time
